My story

01 — Design With Intention

Branding and packaging designer with 5+ years of experience, working at the intersection of strategy, aesthetics, and real-world impact.

02 — Learning the Craft at Scale

I started my career in large, corporate hospitality-focused agencies, working as both a graphic designer and senior designer. One of the highlights was contributing to the development of The Post Montecito marketplace in Santa Barbara — a project that shaped my understanding of how design lives in physical spaces.

03 — The Disconnect

That experience was valuable, but it also made one thing very clear: somewhere along the way, the connection between the client and the design gets diluted. Projects pass through too many hands, decisions get layered, and the original vision often loses its sharpness.

04 — Less Distance, Stronger Work

I realized that the strongest work happens when there's less distance — when ideas aren't filtered through a system, but developed through direct collaboration. That's what led me to work independently.

05 — Partnering Directly

Today, I partner closely with founders and growing brands — primarily in CPG, beverage, and skincare — as well as cafés and restaurants. My focus is on building brands that don't just look good, but hold their own in the real world: on shelves, in hands, and in memory. Some of the brands I've worked on have launched in retail environments like Pop-Up Grocer, including Hot Girl Soda.

06 — The Approach

I approach every project with a balance of clarity and depth — stripping away the unnecessary, while building something that feels distinct, considered, and lasting.

Absolutely loved working with my Kate! She really understood the vision I had for my brand and brought it to life perfectly. She was creative, professional, patient with all of my ideas and revisions, and made the entire process so easy. I’m so happy with how everything turned out. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a talented and reliable designer, especially if you’re building a brand and want someone who genuinely cares about bringing your vision to life. I’ll definitely be working with her again for future projects!

Working with Kate on the Hot Girl Soda logo, branding, and packaging design was honestly a great experience. From the start, she made the process feel very collaborative and never rushed any decisions. She took the time to really understand us as founders, what we wanted the brand to feel like, and who it was for.

She went through multiple iterations with us and was incredibly thoughtful and detail oriented throughout the entire process. Kate genuinely cared about getting everything exactly right and made sure the logo and overall branding felt authentic and aligned with our vision.

Her design work has played a huge role in our business. One of the number one compliments we consistently get is around our packaging and branding, and that is a direct result of her work. She was able to create something eye catching and memorable without it feeling overpowering or losing the brand’s voice, which is not easy to do.

The end result gave us a brand foundation we are truly proud of and confident building on. I would absolutely recommend Kate to any founder or brand looking for a collaborative designer that can help bring their brand/ vision to life.

FAQ

FAQs

Got questions before diving in? That's normal. Here are answers to the ones we hear most often. If yours isn't here, send us a message.

What does your pricing look like?

Brand identity + Packaging projects start at $5,000.

More comprehensive projects that include additional deliverables — such as additional SKUs, print collateral, web design, social media assets, 3D packaging renders, or merch design — typically start at $8,000.

Final pricing depends on the scope and specific needs of your project.

How do payments work?

Project fees are split into four installments to be made over a period of two months. Payments will be scheduled at equal intervals throughout this period.

The two-month timeline is an estimated standard duration for the project’s completion. In the event that the project takes longer than two months, the payment dates will remain as originally scheduled, ensuring consistent cash flow and project progress. If any adjustments to the payment schedule are needed, they will be discussed and mutually agreed upon in advance.

This payment structure helps keep projects moving at a consistent pace and prevents timelines from stretching indefinitely, while keeping things fair and predictable for both sides.

All contracts, invoices, payments, and other paperwork are handled through HoneyBook, which makes the process simple and secure for clients worldwide.

How long does a project take?

Most projects take a minimum of 6 weeks, with an average timeline of around 2 months.

The exact timing varies, depending on the scope of work, the number of deliverables, and how quickly feedback and approvals are provided throughout the process.

Are there any additional costs I should plan for?

Yes. Certain third-party costs are not included in the project fee and are covered directly by the client. These may include font licenses, stock photography or image licensing, website domain and hosting fees, printing and production costs, as well as any other third-party services required for the project.

Do you offer packaging design without branding?

My main focus is building brands from the ground up, so most of my projects include both brand identity and packaging.

I do take on packaging-only projects occasionally, but availability for these is very limited. I’m usually the best fit for brands looking to build or rethink their visual identity as a whole.
